WHAT WE LOVE...

You'll find activities, sports facilities and children's playgrounds galore here. The hotel, which sits at the centre of this inland sprawling resort, is all grand arches, columns, marble floors and spacious bedrooms with views over the 18-hole championship golf course which wraps around it. It's particularly popular with golfers but there's also archery in summer, four hotel pools including one adults-only and another for activities, basketball, fitness classes, entertainment and various restaurants. A Splashpark with slides and sprays plus playhouse, supervised nursery and adventure playground will keep young ones amused while the adults can chill out in the resort's stylish Retreat Spa which offers a huge range of pampering signature rituals and infinity pool.

THE DETAILS

Location

It's only a short walk to the resort's village square where we enjoyed delicious cakes from the bakery.

It's a 10-minute drive to Aphrodite's rock and a further 20 minutes' south to Pissouri beach.
By plane: flights from London to Paphos take 4 hours 30 minutes. The hotel is a 20-minute drive from the airport. Free on-site parking. skyscanner.net

Style & Character

The hotel suits golfers, sports groups, tennis players, families, couples and holidaymakers wanting activities in summer when the hotel becomes a Tui Sensatori. We loved the pretty hand-painted cat ceramics made by a local artist (with some of the proceeds being used to house and feed the resort cats).

Service & Facilities

There are large pools and the heated indoor pool is lovely and warm, a bonus during the winter.

Rooms

The Deluxe swim-up rooms have a shared pool (heated in spring and autumn) which snakes alongside the fairway of the 8th hole and is lit up at night. We loved watching the sunset across the 9th green from our balcony - glorious pink skies giving way to a fast disappearing golden sun.

Food & Drink

We watched the golfers while dining on excellent chicken kebabs in the Golf Clubhouse restaurant. Despite our initial reservations, the wasabi chocolate mousse was surprisingly rich and delicious.

The Golf Clubhouse: informal restaurant, serving breakfast, brunch and light snacks. Open daily, 7am-7pm.
El Sabor: poolside garden restaurant, Mexican cuisine. Open for lunch and dinner.
