WHAT WE LOVE...

Hotel Rochechouart is one of seven Paris properties belonging to French-owned Orso Hotels. This one is set in trendy Montmartre and launched in October 2022, a masterful restoration of a nine-storey hotel that originally opened in 1929. Channelling the bohemian spirit of the Roaring Twenties, its star attraction is an elegant Art Deco brasserie that attracts a fun crowd at weekends with some diners then progressing (in the winter season) to Le Mikado nightclub on the floor below. In summer, the action switches to a small roof terrace with a bar and fine views of Paris. The period mood continues in 106 well-appointed guest rooms that match wood, brass and marble elements with a palette of green, brown and terracotta.

Food & Drink

The intriguing cocktail list features an armagnac-based 'Oh My Dogness' and an absinthe-laced 'Prélude Gourmand'. Try to visit the restaurant on a Thursday when there is excellent live music. We loved the mushroom soup with black truffle, followed by sole Mikado with capers and lemon sauce. Classic desserts include poire Belle Hélène and île flottante.

Restaurant Rochechouart: bistro, seasonal menus, traditional French cuisine. Open Tue-Sat for lunch and dinner, Sun for lunch.
Rooftop terrace: garden vibes, cosy benches. Open seasonally for drinks and light bites.
