WHAT WE LOVE...

The laid-back island of Folegandros may be little known compared with the likes of Corfu and Santorini, but those that have visited love it. This small, chic hotel - just 15 rooms and suites - hasn't a whole host of facilities past a bar and simple restaurant (there's no pool), but there's all you need for a delightful stay. Beautiful beaches on your doorstep, a good choice of traditional tavernas nearby, and the easygoing island capital, Chora, to explore. Every room has either a terrace or balcony, and wonderful sea views. You can also hire the hotel's powerboat to explore hidden coves and deserted beaches and there are numerous walking trails in the vicinity.
