WHAT WE LOVE...

This is a trendy, boutique-style hotel in the upmarket suburb of Ranelagh, a neighbourhood which is known for a great selection of pubs and restaurants and is around 15 minutes from the city by car. There are 40 cosy guest rooms, which are comfortable and well-equipped with a mini bar of drinks and snacks and lots of convenient gadgets. The Americana cocktail bar on the ground floor is a large, bright space with an excellent cocktail and tapas menu, and Layla's rooftop restaurant has a classic Italian menu, a great selection of wines and cocktails and good views of the surrounding rooftops. There's a coffee hatch, and guests can also book in to see movies in the comfortable Stella Cinema in the basement, which has its own bar.

Rooms

The standard Double room was compact, extremely comfortable, well-equipped and had nice views. We liked the picture windows at the end of corridors and appreciated the extra touches in the room: interesting magazines to read, snacks and toiletries for sale and a clothing steamer.

Food & Drink

The Italian menu at Layla's has great pasta, pizza and traditional mains, plus creative cocktails like a whiskey apple or a mango basil smash. We recommend the pappardelle pasta with slow-cooked beef Bolognese on the heated outdoor terrace at Layla's.

Layla's: rooftop restautant, Italian cuisine. Open daily for all-day dining and weekend brunch. 3-course evening menu from €49.50.
Americana Bar: atmospheric cocktail bar, bar snacks and sharing plates. Open daily from 12pm.
