WHAT WE LOVE...

This 10-room boutique hotel is oozing history. The former home of Queen Victoria's youngest daughter Beatrice, Albert Cottage is in the grounds of the English Heritage property Osborne House. The period-styled interiors try to recreate how it might have looked at the time and many original features remain, including the tiled floor in the entrance and ornate plasterwork in the drawing room. Just a mile from the Red Funnel ferry service to Southampton, this is an ideal first stop for an Isle of Wight holiday. Enjoy afternoon teas on the sunny terrace, or three-course meals in the spacious restaurant. Some rooms have balconies overlooking the pretty gardens, and several of the rooms are licenced for weddings.
