WHAT WE LOVE...

Not many hotels tell a story quite like Hotel THe Volcán Lanzarote's. You enter this five-star resort through a copy of a church. And not any old church. But the original island capital Teguise's Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, a three-naved church with a distinctive tower. Piped Gregorian chants add extra drama to the arrival. Elsewhere, a miniaturised version of La Geria's volcanic vineyards houses a solarium, and there's even a mock volcano overlooking the hotel to reinforce the theme. Besides that, the rest of the hotel is made up like a classic Canarian village, with the whitewashed exteriors loved by Lanzarote icon, artist/architect César Manrique.

Style & Character

The hotel suits both families and couples - who are able to retreat to the more sedate adults-only Club Volcán section. We love taking afternoon tea in green and pleasant Club Volcán - a nostalgic treat for lovers of this great British tradition.
