WHAT WE LOVE...
This bustling pub with upscale B&B and wedding venue attached, once named the Eels Foot Pub, dates back to at least 1854. It boasts a wonderful location right on a quiet and rather undiscovered section of the Norfolk Broads. The pub's spacious restaurant serves hearty, good value meals while the comfortable guest rooms are suitably contemporary and well decorated, featuring bursts of colour. There are also three swish lodges available, sleeping four, six and eight, ideal for a larger gathering of family or friends. The Boathouse is ideally located for the sandy beaches and dunes, the restaurants and attractions of Norwich and of course, the stunning Broads themselves.

Location
We loved sitting by one of the tables in the garden with a drink at sunset, looking out over the expanse of water.
The village of Ormesby is set within the Trinity Broads. Within a 15-minute drive are the beaches at Caister and Great Yarmouth.
By car: around 1 hour 50 minutes from Cambridge, 3 hours 30 minutes from London and 4 hours 15 minutes from York. Free parking available
By train: there are trains to Great Yarmouth from London Liverpool Street, via Norwich. The hotel is a 15-minute drive from the station. thetrainline.com

The tables have views of the Broads. The mussels are steamed in cider and herbs, which gives a slightly unusual - and tasty - take on this dish.
