WHAT WE LOVE...

This secluded little cave hotel right at the top of Santorini in a quiet spot at the edge of Oia really is special. With just 13 sleek, comfortable rooms, many of them secluded, it is a real romantic getaway - especially attractive to couples, such as those on honeymoon or celebrating an anniversary. Its terraces of rooms and suites are hewn into the rock and each has a different shape, size and character. Although there's no bar or restaurant, high quality private dining is available and there's good drinks menu for you to enjoy the spectacular sunsets from your own private terrace. Most rooms have an outdoor jacuzzi, a few have a steam room, and there's a communal pool too. Free parking is available at the hotel's lot just 60 metres away. Oia's sights, a great hike, shops, restaurants and bars are just a short walk.

Style & Character

Being such a romantic spot, guests tend to be couples, often honeymooners or those celebrating anniversaries. However, children aged over 13 are welcome. We loved the secluded, bright, clean, minimalist feel of this warren-like sun-drenched little world.

Having your own steam room on top of everything else is such a luxury.

Rooms

The Shipbuilder's House (Suite) is a secluded, cosy yet roomy one-bed suite with a spacious terrace boasting spectacular views overlooking the caldera, a jacuzzi and a steam room. The rooms and suites are sleek, cave-like, white, bright and supremely comfortable.

Studio, Maisonette, Suite, Villa
Facilities include: ensuite bathroom with toiletries, private in-room dining, terrace, TV, free Wi-Fi

Food & Drink

The breakfasts look as well as taste lovely, especially as they're served on the terrace with beautiful views. There are Greek-themed, energy-themed and 'Ikies own' breakfasts, with numerous extras available. For dinner, we recommend the catch of the day - sea bass baked perfectly, with spinach in olive oil and lemon, sun-dried tomatoes and a purée of celery root, tasting like a delicately-flavoured posh mashed potato.

Ikies: private in-room or terrace dining, daily. Breakfast served, 8-11am. Lunch and dinner served, 12-10pm.
