WHAT WE LOVE...

Built over 400 years ago, Goldsborough Hall is one of the finest stately homes in Yorkshire. Once a Royal residence, it's now a luxurious five-star country retreat nestled in the pretty village of Goldsborough, and just a few miles from the beautiful towns of Harrogate and Knaresborough. Perfectly suited to city dwellers, history lovers, or foodies looking for a boutique stay surrounded by picturesque landscapes, Goldsborough Hall offers delicious local and seasonal dishes in its restaurant, and beautiful period features throughout the hotel.

Style & Character

City dwellers looking for a country escape or lovers of history will like it here. Goldsborough Hall is also an ideal destination for outdoor types, or anyone looking for a night or two away with a real sense of style and opulence. From walks around the award-winning estate and kitchen gardens, to lazy mornings in a quiet space, it's the perfect place for some much-needed R&R.

Service & Facilities

Service at Goldsborough Hall is second to none. It can be something of a worry that the waiting staff might be a touch too stuffy or formal in such a grand venue, but everyone at the Hall is warm, friendly and polite - the perfect Yorkshire hospitality. We love the antique oak-panelled Jacobean library, with ornately painted ceilings, low lighting and dark leather chesterfields. It's both cosy and atmospheric, the perfect spot for pre or post-dinner drinks, or to warm up in front of the fire after a day exploring.

Rooms

The Luxury bedrooms, in the Hall's 1830s Dower House wing, are compact but still have a light and airy feel. King-sized mahogany sleigh beds, exposed oak beams and twin sinks, combined with views over the courtyard and woodlands, give you the same sense of comfort and luxury as the main house rooms. Goldsborough Hall offers dog-friendly rooms on the ground floor, and there's plenty of outdoor space to tire your four-legged friend out before bed.

Food & Drink

Each dish from our tasting menu showed off the kitchen's level of skill and dedication to seasonal ingredients. The standout had to be the locally reared venison - perfectly cooked and melt-in-the-mouth tender - with black garlic, parsnip and blackberries all grown in Goldsborough Hall's kitchen garden. Arrive with a good appetite; the dishes are well portioned and full of flavour!

The Dining Room: 2 AA Rosette fine dining, local produce, kitchen garden, tasting menus. Open for dinner. Tasting menu from £70pp.
The Orangery: seasonal set lunch menus, Afternoon Tea. Open for lunch at weekend 12-2pm. Afternoon Tea served daily 2.30-4pm. Two courses £28.
