On this exclusive small group walking tour, every day will be different as you set off with your guide on a series of walks that take in the best of this wonderful county, including sections of the dramatic South West Coastal Path. Following breakfast, join your coach transfer to Sennen Cove and the start of today's walk. Journey time to Sennen Cove is around an hour. Rose in Vale will provide a delicious, packed lunch of local delicacies for your day.
Your walk today is around 7 miles and traverses the spectacular South West Coast Path. Dramatic seascapes, and rugged coastal panoramas will follow you almost every step of the way. The route takes you via Land's End, the most westerly point in England where you'll be able to enjoy the beautiful views in every direction..
The Minack Theatre at Porthcurno is a quite unique, open air theatre perched on the cliffs above the endlessly pounding waves of the sea. Although it looks as though created thousands of years ago, the Minack is less than 100 years old and was the vision of Rowena Cade. In the late 1920s, after lending her clifftop garden for an open-air production of Shakespeare's The Tempest, Rowena decided she needed to create a more practical performance and seating area. Her vision for the Minack Theatre was born and she and her helpers created what you see today largely by hand, and with the odd stick of dynamite.
From Porthcurno, join the coach transfer to the quaint fishing village of Mousehole. Explore its narrow streets filled with galleries, boutiques, and cosy restaurants.
Return to Rose in Vale for dinner this evening.
Depart after breakfast for Perranporth. It's a short drive of just 15 minutes to the start of your 12.5 mile walk.
Some of today's walk may be strenuous at times with several ascents and descents but the scenery more than makes up for the effort. The views from the high cliffs are all-encompassing and as you walk you see the ruined chimney stacks of UNESCO World Heritage listed Wheal Coates, silhouetted against the sky. A stark reminder of Cornwall's rich tin mining history. Keep look out for guillemots, razorbills and even puffins as you walk.
Enjoy lunch at Chapel Porth Beach Cafe. The rolling waves at Chapel Porth are a favoured haunt of surfers.
Transfer from Portreath to Rose in Vale for dinner.
After the exertions of yesterday rest your legs a little today as you spend the morning exploring the magical 'Lost Gardens of Heligan'. Believed lost since the outbreak of WWI, these gardens were re-discovered in 1990 and became the focus of what was to be Europe's largest garden restoration project. There are over 200 acres for plant lovers and wildlife enthusiasts to discover and you'll be in the expert hands of a gardener for your tour.
Head to the harbour-side village of Mevagissey for lunch at your leisure. Named after two Irish saints; St Meva and St Issey, the village dates to 1313. The village was once the centre of the Cornish pilchard fishery and today a few dozen small boats still fish from the harbour.
Spend the afternoon at Caerhays Castle Estate, a Grade I-listed building dating back to 1807. The history of the estate is rich and varied and the gardens are designated as being of 'outstanding importance' by Kew Gardens. Enjoy a guided tour followed by a delicious cream tea.
Enjoy a musical evening in the company of talented sea shanty singers, The Oggymen. Their songs chart Cornwall's rich history and are a bridge to the past and the future. Dinner is at Rose in Vale.
Your walk today is around 13 miles and will cover some of the most dramatic and spectacular sections of the South West Coast Path. There are some steep climbs and descents however the scenery is outstanding and there is a true sense of solitude and wilderness.
See the Gunwalloe Church of St. Winwaloe at the foot of the sand dunes in Church Cove and explore Helzephron Cove. Many ships have been wrecked on this often storm-battered coastline and it's not hard to see why Helzephron is Cornish for 'Cliff of Hell'.
Enjoy lunch in Mullion Cove.
Beautiful Kynance Cove is tucked away out of sight by towering cliffs and is a truly spectacular vision as the vivid turquoise water and white sands make their appearance. At high tide, the sea can be particularly dramatic, especially if the day is windy.
The final stretch of the walk takes you to Lizard Point for your transfer back to Rose in Vale.
After breakfast, depart for your journey home.
