Brush up on your watercolour painting skills in the pretty Cotswolds
This crafty holiday is ideal for those wanting to take up watercolour painting as a hobby. With the glorious Cotswolds as an inspiring backdrop, you'll enjoy three full days of workshops focussing on composition, tonal range, colour mixing, line and wash, and sketching.
You'll be based at the glorious Grade II-listed Harrington House, a sumptuous country house just a skip away from the heart of pretty Bourton-on-the-Water, the impossibly pretty Cotswolds town known for its chocolate-box cottages, old-fashioned tearooms, and stone bridges that span the River Windrush.
All your meals will be included during your stay, with breakfast each day, three-course dinners each night, a light lunch during your workshops, and a delicious cream tea on arrival day.
Your workshops will be with expert tutor Alison Carr, an artist with experience in a range of mediums, who'll help you capture the beauty of the Cotswolds in your art. Through her friendly guidance and personalised feedback, Alison will increase your confidence and help you to make noticeable progress over the three days.
Take some time to explore your surroundings before or after your workshops. The Cotswold Motoring Museum, the Model Village, and Birdland Wildlife Park & Gardens are all within easy reach, and it's an easy drive from village beauties Broadway and Bibury.
For walkers and hikers, there's no shortage of thrills, especially for those keen to explore the well-trodden trails and paths around the Windrush Valley, Lower and Upper Slaughter, Gloucestershire Way, Cotswold Way, and Monarch Way.
