Visit the stunning Krka National Park, vibrant Split, the island city of Trogir, and Montenegro – one of Europe’s most unspoilt countries

If there is a more beautiful coastline than the glittering, island-studded waters of the Dalmatian Coast, then we have yet to hear of it. You'll discover this wonderful region of Croatia for yourself - along with neighbouring Montenegro - on this exclusive seven-night itinerary.

Spend three nights on the sweeping, sun-kissed reaches of the Markarska Riviera, and four more close to walled Dubrovnik, relaxing in comfortable hotels or exploring your surroundings on our included tours.

Your adventure begins with a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage cities of Split and Trogir, where you will marvel at the centuries of extraordinary history and architecture. You'll of course explore the delights of Dubrovnik, known as the Pearl of the Adriatic. Wander its enchanting Old Town, with cobbled-stone streets, spurting fountains, and pretty churches.

Take a trip to Croatia's outstanding Krka National Park, where crashing waterfalls tumble into deep gorges and picturesque lakes surrounded by lush forests. More jaw-dropping nature awaits on a journey south past the River Neretva delta - a wildlife paradise home to several endangered bird species - on your way to historic Mostar in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

You'll also venture to neighbouring Montenegro, one of Europe's most unspoilt countries, where you'll marvel at its pristine beaches, luxuriant pine forests, and mediaeval villages and visit the spectacular Bay of Kotor, Southern Europe's largest fjord.

You'll stay at two stylish hotels during your trip, the Four-Star Hotel Ivando on the Makarska Riviera, just steps from a white pebble beach with crystal clear waters, and at the Hotel Astarea in Mlini, which looks out over the glistening Adriatic and has two large swimming pools.

    Arrive in Croatia
    Dubrovnik, Croatia

Today you'll fly from the UK to Dubrovnik, where you'll meet your tour manager, before following the scenic route north to your hotel in Drvenik, a coastal town on the shores of the Adriatic.

Once you've checked in, you'll have some free time to get to know your surroundings and spend a first evening on the shores of the Adriatic, perhaps enjoying a nightcap under the stars.

  2. Day

    Split and Trogir
    Split, Croatia

Today you'll discover Croatia's historic second city, Split. This beautiful city is home to a lively and colourful old town and the palace of Roman Emperor Diocletian, one of the best-preserved Roman monuments in the world.

After you've toured Split, you'll cross to the nearby island town of Trogir over a bridge and through a Land Gate, where you'll enter a time-warped jumble of palaces, ancient churches and hidden courtyards. You'll visit the Romanesque cathedral and wander the narrow streets and seafront promenade before returning to your hotel.

    3
    Krka National Park
    Krka National Park, Croatia

Your tour today will take you to the breathtaking Krka National Park, where you'll witness tumbling waterfalls, deep gorges and picturesque lakes.

This beautiful National Park stretches some 12 miles up a lavender-clad valley from the delightful harbour town of Skradin with its stone-built houses and colourful waterfront. You'll have the chance to wander along wooden walkways through the lush forests at your own pace.

  4. Day
    4
    Mlini and Mostar
    Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina

After a final breakfast at your hotel this morning, you'll check out and travel south past the River Neretva delta, a wildlife paradise home to several endangered bird species, on the way to Bosnia-Herzegovina and historic Mostar.

You'll have the chance to explore this colourful, UNESCO-listed town, where the most famous landmark is the lovingly restored mediaeval bridge that spans the river, and which boasts one of Europe's oldest continuously trading markets.

After your visit to Mostar, you'll continue to your perfectly located second hotel, where you'll check in and enjoy dinner.

  5. Day

You'll get to know delightful Dubrovnik today, a city known as the Pearl of the Adriatic. You'll explore its captivating, mediaeval old town on a guided walking tour, where highlights will include the Franciscan Monastery, and the Rector's Palace, the seat of the government in the former Dubrovnik Republic.

There'll also be a chance to walk the ancient city walls, from where you'll enjoy views stretching out over the city's typical red-roofed buildings to the sea beyond.

If you prefer, you can simply take a seat in one of the city's many pavement cafés and relax before returning to the hotel.
