Venice and the colourful Lagoon islands with Alex Polizzi
Perhaps Europe's most romantic destination, Venice has wooed visitors for centuries with its ornate Renaissance architecture, elaborate palaces and the quiet canals that link it all together. But there's much more to Venice than just that, and on this cruise of its Lagoon you'll discover the equally charming islands nearby, as well as the city itself, alongside the presenter of Secret Italy, Alex Polizzi.
As a child Alex would explore Italy's islands on boat trips with her Italian grandparents, and on this tour she'll show you the colourful fishermen's cottages of Burano and Murano, and you'll learn about their proud traditions of lacemaking and glassblowing. You'll also visit Chioggia, Venice's quieter cousin, where the winding backstreets and serene canals are less crowded, but just as pretty.
Alex will also give an exclusive talk to you and your fellow travellers, before she answers your questions in a private Q&A session.
All your meals and drinks on board MS Michelangelo are included, as is your cocktail reception and gala welcome dinner. There are also tours of the Doge's Palace and its mysterious passageways and Piazza San Marco included, as well as an optional trip to the medieval city of Padua.
Meet the Hotel Inspector
You'll get the chance to meet Alex Polizzi, who is an expert on Italy. Alex feels a closeconnection to Venice, having explored the city on many occasions, including on her TV programme Alex Polizzi's Secret Italy. She will join you for tours of Burano and Murano, and deliver a talk about her life, career and love for the region.
Discover magnificent Venice
From Piazza San Marco to the Grand Canal and Bridge of Sighs, there's incredible architecture to admire. You'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to places to explore.
